Designed for increased rigidity and performance, Chevalier’s FVGC-II vertical grinding center features a linear-way design on the saddle and table and a Big-Plus CT40 spindle taper. The 47.2" × 20" machine can accommodate table loads as heavy as 1,320 lbs. and is suited for industries such as medical and wind energy and applications including semiconductor, turbine and satellite stations.
The grinding center includes a Fanuc 0iMD control with a 10-hp servo spindle motor and a 12,000-rpm spindle with square-way column. An air-purge design prevents foreign material from flying into the spindle, and a table splashguard collects most of the grinding swarf to prevent damage, the company says. The machine also features an ATC with grinding wheels; a drum-type coolant system with paper filter; and an air-conditioned electrical cabinet.
