ATI Stellram offers a versatile geometry for finish turning components ranging from steel to high-temperature alloys. The Stellram 1B insert is available in two grades: SP0819, which is designed for high cutting speeds in difficult-to-machine materials, and Nitro-Lok-coated NL37, which is designed for high cutting speeds in unalloyed and alloyed steels. These grade and coating technologies, combined with a unique geometry, are said to increase productivity.
The insert features a controlled cutting edge and nose profile, designed to remove material for a quality surface finish at various depths of cut and feed rates, the company says. Also, the geometry is said to provide high resistance to heat and edge breakdown.
