Rego-Fix offers new versions of its Securgrip anti-pullout toolholding system, designed for use in virtually any ER collet system as well as with Rego-Fix milling chucks. The system now can be used with ER 32 or ER 40 holders in all tapers, including CAT, BT, TC, HSK and Capto, as well as Rego-Fix 0.75", 1" and 1.25" milling chucks in CAT, BT and HSK tapers.
The Securgrip toolholding system locks the collet and cutter to the toolholder body via a small, profiled locking key insert that fits into a tool’s standard Weldon end mill flat. After the insert is placed in the tool flat, the tool is screwed into a collet or a milling chuck that has a matching internal diameter profile to securely lock the two together. The system is said to provide a solid connection for high-productivity machining operations. It works with standard carbide or high speed steel end mills ranging from 0.5" to 0.79" (12.7 to 20 mm) in diameter, and provides TIR of 0.0002" or better, the company says. A back screw enables presetting of tool length. The hardened steel locking inserts are size-specific by diameter.
