Available from Absolute Machine Tools, the Nexturn S-model range of Swiss-type lathes include “e” and “P” series, each consisting of four models capable of handling 20-, 26-, 32- or 36-mm barstock. According to Absolute, the Swiss-type turning machines are designed for precise, cost-efficient production of small, complex workpieces. The machines are said to offer easy operation with conversational software as well as high rigidity for consistent accuracy.
The “e” series machines feature an integrated rotary synchronous guide bushing with a dual-bearing structure said to promote high accuracy. The “P” series units have a removable guide bushing that enables precise machining of long parts and that can be removed to enable the use of less-expensive cold-drawn barstock. This also minimizes the size of the bar remnant left after machining.
