Hirschmann Engineering’s self-centering vise is designed for use in the System 9000 zero point reference system. This precision, self-centering vise provides a universal method of quickly clamping different types of workpieces for five-sided machining, the company says. The vise is mounted on a pallet for manual or automated loading. Depending on the clamper used, it can be quickly and accurately clamped parallel to the machine table or at 45-degree and 90-degree indexes, the company says
The standard 80-mm, width-reversible jaws allow clamping for part sizes ranging from 0 to 190 mm in length or width. Optional jaws include prism jaw replacements for holding rounds, raw jaws that can be milled to match part geometry and universal jaws with additional features. Also, 125-mm-wide jaws are available for support of wider workpieces. The vise can hold multiple parts simultaneously via optional twin-load jaws, which are available in three different heights.
