demonstrates its five-axis all-linear precision universal grinding machine and software designed for high-precision tool and cutter grinding. Structural rigidity, rapid wheel change — five, 12 or 24-wheel magazine — and a high-torque, high-speed grinding spindle — up to 24,000 rpm — minimize cycle times while producing high-quality tools and parts.
The Schutte 335Linear offers a large work area with X-axis of 8.9", Y-axis of 9.84" and Z-axis of 10.24". Resolution in Y-, and Z-axis is less than 0.000004". Maximum feed in the X and Z axes is 945 ipm. Accelerations up to 1 g, and speeds up to 48 m/min.
The 335Linear can be provided with integrated automation options for unmanned operation, including pallet, chain magazine or robot.
Schutte’s SIGSpro software is setup to handle multiple types of fluting operations, facet and eccentric reliefs, manufacturer specific drill points and trepan operations. The combination tool option permits manufacturing a single tool with two different types of cutting profile such as drill/reamers, drill/taps and so on.
The integrated 3D simulation enables users to see the exact tool that will be ground prior to grinding.
