Mitsubishi Electric Automation offers its F-series industrial robots for dexterous, complex operations. The series includes SCARA robots with 3-, 6-, 12- and 20-kg payload capacities, and articulated robots offering 2-, 4- and 7-kg payload capacities. Available in both vertical and horizontal configurations, the robots are well-suited for material handling, machine tending, assembly, picking, packing, kiting, dispensing and inspection applications.
A force sensor combined with coordinated motion and automatic collision avoidance enables the creation of densely packed robot cells. Improvements over previous series include increased operating speed, increased Z-axis speed, stronger wrist axis and wider operating range, depending on the model. According to the company, the robots require shorter startup times compared to fixed automation, and use less energy and generate less scrap than manual operation. The series is designed as a total automation suite with simple interfaces to business systems and a comprehensive control architecture.
