Breton’s five-axis gantry machining center is designed for precise, reliable milling and turning of small to large workpieces in materials ranging from super alloys to composites. The high-speed tilt-table machining series includes round table diameters of 800 mm, 1,000 mm and 1,200 mm for applications including complex gears, impellers and blisks for aerospace, automotive, power generation and general industry. The machining center can be customized with electro-spindles offering 14,000, 18,000 or 28,000 rpm with HSK 63/100 for milling and Capto C6/C8 or KM4X for turning. Different power configurations are also available.
The machining center features a heavy-duty ribbed gantry featuring Breton’s Metalquartz vibration damping system. The heavily ribbed and shielded cast iron spindle carriage slides on automatically lubricated reciprocating roller guides for frictionless motion with maximum way surface contact. The motion of the X- and Y-axis is performed by precision inclined rack and pinion motion control with digital AC brushless servomotors. Z-axis movement is driven by a precision ballscrew with preloaded nut. The machine’s design incorporates full frontal and overhead access said to simplify loading and unloading. Wide doors provide a large viewing area.
