MCM offers a range of four- and five-axis machines, as well as multitasking machine models that can turn, mill and grind. All machines models are said to provide fast tool- and pallet-changing times, and are available as stand-alone, two-pallet machines in a pallet-pool configuration or as part of a flexible manufacturing system (FMS). This includes the company’s Clock and iTank models, with pallets measuring from 500 × 500 mm to 1600 × 2,000 mm.
The iTank series is available in four- or five-axis versions with tilting-head, tilting-table or vertical rotary-table designs. These machines offer spindle speeds ranging from 4,000 to 18,000 rpm and rotary-table speeds ranging to 500 rpm for the multitasking version. The tilting-axis movement is produced via a gantry transmission. The machines feature an X-axis guide on two different levels, which makes the carriage unit rigid and increases machining performance, the company says.
The iTank line offers different options in terms of travels: X axis from 1,300 to 3,000 mm, Y axis from 1,300 to 2,000 mm and Z axis from 1,300 to 3,000 mm. The machines are well-suited for applications in various manufacturing sectors, especially aerospace, energy, oil/gas and general engineering fields, in which a high level of rigidity, precision and flexibility is required, the company says.
Components such as electrospindles, tables and heads for all machine models are designed and manufactured by MCM. The JFMX supervision and control software, developed by the company’s Software and Architecture Division, is said to ensure the coordination and real-time management of all plant manufacturing resources. Structured on multiple levels, it is designed to accommodate a large number of variables to facilitate integration into a manufacturer’s IT system.
