Mazak’s VTC-300 FSW Hybrid multitasking vertical machining center features friction stir welding (FSW) capabilities. FSW is said to produce a pure, clean weld that improves on the strength, quality and durability of MIG welding and other options, eliminating the problems of weakened material properties at the point of welds, according to the company.
The company will also be displaying its VC-300A/5X vertical machining center with five-axis rotary/tilt table and technology for high-precision small-parts processing. It will be producing a medical industry bone plate.
