FlexArm has expanded its offering with a the FlexDrill, a large-bed CNC drilling and milling machine. The company says it is ideal for shops looking to increase production, since it can machine larger parts faster. With bed size ranging from 10 to 35 ft. on the X axis and from 2 to 10 ft. on the Y axis, these machines are capable of handling a large variety of parts. A maximum torque of 368 foot-pounds and spindle speeds ranging to 6,000 rpm makes flexibility a key benefit, the company says.
What makes the FlexDrill stand out as a machine center is its ability to work in what the company calls Pendulum Mode. This is said to enable 100 percent spindle uptime. The process lets the operator safely load/unload one side of the machine while the spindle is working on the other side.
