LMT Onsrud LP’s MXR and HXR end mills are designed to meet the challenges of machining Inconel and other nickel-based materials. Both tool series are coated with EnduraSpeed for better tool life and performance.
The MXR series has been engineered for heavy profiling, allowing for 15 percent radial engagement during machining. The optimized variable geometry delivers high material removal rates along with a quality surface finish. Tools are available with four or five flutes and with multiple corner radii. A four-flute ballnose version for contouring is also available.
Configured in seven-, nine-, or 11-flute options, the HXR end mill line also provides material removal rates and has been developed for lower radial and higher axial engagement for high-efficiency machining (HEM). Longer tool lengths incorporate a chipbreaker design to enhance chip removal and thereby increase tool performance.
