Heimatec offers its U-tec flexible tool adapter system, which enables a standard ER-output live tool to accept various adapters for different applications. The company says that its adapter uses a polygonal drive system to ensure high power transmission stability and faster setup with no loss in performance or accuracy. The live tool base remains in position so that only the collet/adapter is swapped, which is said to reduce inventory costs as well as change-over time. The adapter system is available for all major turning machines.
