The upgraded line of KC9225 inserts, part of the Kenna Perfect turning system, features a new coating designed to increase cutting speeds between 20 and 40 percent compared to other products in its class, developers say. According to the company, post-coat finishing processes reduce chip hammering and built-up edge conditions, extending tool life and preventing insert damage, particularly in applications demanding continuous to lightly interrupted cuts at high cutting speeds.  The company says the inserts’ sharp cutting edges and toughness and deformation resistance make them useful for machining austenitic stainless steels at speeds in excess of 550 sfm. The inserts are recommended for applications in the medical and food industries; the chemical industry; oil and petrochemical businesses; flange manufacturing; or other applications involving stainless steels.
