The AsahiKlin AE-3000 series of fluorinated solvents from AGC Chemicals Americas is said to have a low global warming potential (GWP) and no flash point or ozone depletion potential (ODP). According to the company, the solvents are safer and more environmentally friendly than traditional halogenated solvents, and are suitable for the manufacture of medical devices, electronics, aerospace and optics. The solvents feature low surface tensions, low viscosities and high liquid densities, and are noncorrosive, nonflammable, and chemically and thermally stable.
The series consists of four products: AsahiKlin AE-3000 for precision cleaning of metals, alloys composites and plastics; AsahiKlin AE-3000AT for removing oils and greases from metal and electrical components; AsahKlin AE-3000ATE for precision cleaning of plastics, substrates, electrical components and metals; and AsahiKlin AE-3100E for drying, precision cleaning, dewatering and defluxing electronics, electrical components and printed wiring assemblies.
