Sauer’s Ultrasonic 10 from DMG is a compact, five-axis machine designed for dental indications in soft plastics, demanding metals and high-strength zircon oxide materials. Crowns, bridges, abutments and inlays are examples of the various complex and unique structures that can be produced with four- or five-axis milling operations on the single machine. When paired with intelligent equipment stages, production can be automated.
 
The machine’s water-cooled, high-frequency spindle with an HSK-25 holder can rotate at speeds ranging to 42,000 rpm. The NC rotary table with torque technology features a swivel range from -20 degrees to +120 degrees.
 
The machine is available in a stand-alone version as well as in two different automation solutions. The smaller PH 2|4 automation option occupies 21.5 square feet of floor space, and it can be equipped with four blanks. Once completely programmed with the corresponding production jobs, the machine can operate unattended for 60 hours.
 
The larger PH 2|100 automation option can be equipped with a maximum of 10 blanks. A finished-parts magazine accepts as many as 120 indication units. With this automation option, the machine can not only assist daily operating sequences, but also continue to operate unattended over the weekend, the company says. Additional floor space of 8.6 square feet is required for the larger automation option.
