Sandvik Coromant’s CoroBore 825 SL face-grooving head provides an alternative to milling grooves for sectors such as pumps and valves, hydraulics, and the pulp and paper industry. The rotating axial face-grooving tool uses a standard SL32 blade and CoroCut 1-2 inserts but features through-coolant capability for greater chip control. According to the company, the tool provides improved rigidity and increases cutting data.
The grooving heads offer radial fine adjustment for presetting and are available in diameters ranging from 47 to 1,275 mm. C6 and C8 adapters are available for smaller diameters ranging from 1.85" to 5.91" (47 to150 mm), while a dedicated face-grooving head with CoroBore XL can be used for large diameters greater than 5.91" (150 mm).
