The MCT 5000-HC seven-axis CNC tool and cutter grinder from Machine Control Technologies is equipped with five-axis controls to enable standard, uneven, index and special-form tool manufacturing plus regrinding on high-speed steel and carbide. The grinder is capable of creating spiral flute, straight flute, primary and secondary reliefs, end and radius, countersink relief, and step OD grinding from blank tools, with tool capacity ranging from 3/32" to 1 1/8". The rotary axis is capable of swiveling within 230 degrees around the rotary center to create angle, radius and ballnose swing grinding for left- or right-hand rotary tools or flat cutters without sacrificing tool grinding length, the company says. The grinder also includes built-in macro programs for end mill, reamer, counter-sink, step-drill, step OD and engraving tools with spiral or straight flute for carbide and high-speed steel, avoiding the need for independent grinding software.
