Methods Machine Tools Celebrates 60th Anniversary
The company has grown from three employees and a few refurbished machines to over 350 employees, eight North American facilities and tens of thousands of machines sold.

Methods Machine Tools Inc. is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Founded in November 1958 with three employees and a few refurbished machines, the company has since grown into a major machine tool supplier. It has roughly 350 employees, eight sales and technology centers and over 35,000 machines installed throughout North America. These range from EDMs to five-axis CNC machines to robotics, automation and 3D printing solutions.
The company’s machine tool partners include Nakamura-Tome, Yasda, FANUC, Kiwa-Japan and Niigata Machine. EDM partners include FANUC Wire EDM and Ocean Technologies Co. Ltd. In addition, the company offers 3D printing solutions through 3D Systems and MarkForged. For measurement and inspection solutions, it offers digital optical comparators from Visionx Inc.
Many of the company’s partnerships have been long-term. In the United States, it has been the exclusive importer of Nakamura-Tome multitasking turning centers for 35 years. It has also imported tapping/drilling FANUC RoboDrill machining centers and FANUC Wire EDM machines for 25 years.

We are proud of our heritage and are looking forward to further expanding our leading technology solutions in machine tools and automation, including the most proficient ways to apply and support them.”
To commemorate its anniversary milestone, the company will host open houses, hold technology events and introduce new product lines throughout the year.
