GE Additive Outlines AM Software Strategies and Partnerships for 2019

At formnext, GE Additive demonstrated its digital workflow software solution and announced its suite of build preparation services, which will be available at the Rapid + TCT show May 2019. The software strategy centers on simplifying the additive process and enabling an interoperable workflow. The company intends to create a common experience through a secure tool that reduces design iterations and shortens the time to print an accurate part.
Improving additive manufacturing’s build preparation workflow involves several elements including a simplified workflow spanning the entire design to print process, interoperable build prep services available to CAD providers, the speed and accuracy of GeonX’s simulation coupled with iterative thermal compensation, improved slicing performance, and an off-machine build processor.
GE Additive also announced partnership agreements with software vendors including Autodesk, PTC, Siemens PLM Software and Vera Security, as well as a collaboration with Dassault Systems. The terms of these agreements have not yet been disclosed.
