Machine tool builder DMG MORI is one company advancing the “hybrid” manufacturing concept that combines additive and subtractive operations into one machine. In this video, Greg Hyatt, senior vice president and CTO, describes the company’s progress in bringing hybrid manufacturing into production. According to Dr. Hyatt, recent areas of growth include the incorporation of new subtractive processes such as grinding into hybrid systems, and an expanding portfolio of compatible materials.
